The working principle of the mechanical float level switch is mainly based on buoyancy and lever principles. The following is a detailed introduction for you:

1. Basic structure:
-Float ball: It is usually made of materials with lower density than liquids, such as plastic, stainless steel, etc., and can float on the surface of liquids. The float may be equipped with magnets and other components inside to interact with the switch section.
-Connecting rod or lever: connecting the float and switch mechanism, transmitting the up and down movement of the float to the switch.
-Switch components: generally include micro switches, reed switches, etc. Micro switch is a switch that controls the on/off of a circuit through small mechanical displacement; The reed switch uses a magnetic field to control the on/off of the switch. It usually contains two or more metal reeds inside, which will be attracted or disconnected when affected by an external magnetic field.
2. Working process:
-Liquid level rise stage: As the liquid level in the container gradually rises, the float will float upwards with the increase of the liquid level. The upward movement of the floating ball is transmitted to the switch component through a connecting rod or lever. If the switch component uses a micro switch, the rising of the float will push the connecting rod, causing the connecting rod to press the contact of the micro switch, thereby closing or opening the micro switch; If it is a reed switch, the magnet inside the float will approach the reed switch as the float rises. When the magnetic field of the magnet acts on the reed switch, the reeds inside the reed switch will be attracted and the circuit will be connected.
-Liquid level descent stage: As the liquid level gradually decreases, the floating ball loses the buoyancy support of the liquid and will descend along with the liquid level. The descent of the float will drive the connecting rod or lever to move in the opposite direction, causing the contacts of the micro switch to return to their original state (i.e. normally open or normally closed), or causing the spring inside the reed switch to disconnect and the circuit to break.
3. Control function: Through the above process, the mechanical float level switch can control the on/off of the circuit according to the changes in the liquid level, thereby achieving monitoring and control of the liquid level. For example, in the automatic water replenishment system of the water tank, when the water level drops to the set low level, the float level switch will activate, triggering the water replenishment device to start working and inject water into the water tank; When the water level rises to the set high level, the float level switch will actuate again, causing the water replenishment device to stop working.
