Relatively inexpensive rotameters, the main disadvantage of mass flowmeters is the relatively expensive price.
There are four fears of using mass flow controllers:
The first fear of dust, if the dust enters the flow meter will block the sensor and the shunt, causing measurement errors, requiring the installation of filters in front of the inlet;
The second fear of liquid and oil into the MFC, will cause loss of control, if the MFC outlet with a liquid tank, need to add a one-way valve at the MFC outlet, to prevent liquid reflux;
The third is afraid of using moist corrosive gas. The corrosive gas will make the stainless steel rust and damage the MFC channel. Therefore, it is required to dry the gas and MFC piping system before using the corrosive gas.
The fourth is that if you use hazardous gases that are highly corrosive, flammable, explosive, toxic, etc., you will not be able to operate in accordance with safety rules. This may cause product damage and other more serious losses. Proper use and safe operation are the most important to every user.
