Natural Gas Flow Meter Features - Focus on Microfluidic Control Technology

At present, there are many kinds of natural gas flowmeters in the market, mainly including membrane natural gas flow meters, Roots-day natural gas flow meters, and turbine natural gas flow meters, which are again described in terms of their respective characteristics:

    Membrane natural gas flow meter function introduction

    Membrane-type natural gas flowmeter belongs to positive displacement type flowmeter. Its measurement principle is to use the diaphragm of the measurement module inside the metering chamber to produce continuous alternating movement under the influence of difference in gas pressure at the inlet and outlet, so as to continuously separate the gas filled in the metering chamber. A single metering volume is discharged toward the outlet, and then connected to the counter through a mechanical transmission mechanism. The counting transmission of a single metering volume and the transmission of a single metering volume are performed, so that the total volume of gas flowing can be measured. Membrane-type natural gas flowmeter has a wide measuring range and is easy to install. It does not require high straight pipe sections before and after the table. However, it has a large volume, a small measuring range, and is prone to corrosion and leads to leakage and inaccurate measurement. It is inconvenient to maintain and is only suitable for low pressure. Only measuring operating flow, it is not easy to implement intelligent temperature and pressure compensation.

    Introduction to the performance of the Roots gas flowmeter

    Roots natural gas flowmeter is a volumetric flowmeter. With the passage of gas, the differential pressure generated between the inlet and outlet of the natural gas flowmeter acts on a pair of lumbar wheels that are linked together by a high-precision synchronous wheel. The rotation of the waist wheel is driven, the gas in the metering room is discharged quantitatively, and then connected to the calculator through the mechanical transmission mechanism to realize gas volume measurement and data conversion. With the development of science and technology, Roots-day gas flowmeters are mostly used for high accuracy, wide range ratio, low initial flow, easy installation, maintenance, and cleanup. The requirements for straight sections of the flowmeter before and after the flowmeter are not high, and intelligent compensation of online temperature and pressure can be achieved. It is applicable to high and medium pressure measurement. Compared with the membrane gas meter, the Roots flowmeter has a higher price than the membrane gas meter at the same flow rate, but the cost performance is higher, and it is more economical than comprehensive consideration of the membrane gas meter.

    Turbine gas flow meter performance introduction

    Turbine gas flowmeters are velocity flowmeters. The measurement principle is to measure the volumetric flow rate of gas by means of a turbine placed in the gas to sense the average gas velocity. The turbine rotation speed is proportional to the volume of the gas to be measured. Turbine natural gas flowmeter has high accuracy, high flow rate, working flow rate of more than 6 000 m3/h, and high degree of intelligence, enabling online temperature and pressure compensation.

    Through the above analysis and introduction, we know that different natural gas flow meters have different measurement originals, and their operating conditions and parameters for the tested gas are also different.
