Magnetic material development history
Magnetic materials are ancient and widely used functional materials. The magnetic properties of materials have been recognized and applied by people since 3,000 years ago. For example, in ancient China, natural magnets were used as compasses. Modern magnetic materials have been widely used in our lives, such as using permanent magnetic materials as motors, core materials used in transformers, magneto-optical disks used as memories, magnetic recording disks for computers and the like. It can be said that magnetic materials are closely related to all aspects of informatization, automation, mechatronics, national defense, and national economy. It is generally considered that a magnetic material refers to a material that can directly or indirectly generate magnetism from excessive elements such as iron, cobalt, nickel, and alloys thereof.
