According to data, one molecule of sulfuric acid must corrode at least 100 iron atoms. Therefore, all kinds of dust and corrosive gases in the industrial atmosphere are extremely harmful to metals.
     The problem of corrosion has spread across all walks of life. Most of metal materials and mechanical equipment are mainly made of iron, while iron, iron, carbon steel, and low alloy are particularly susceptible to rust. In addition, non-ferrous metals such as copper and magnesium are also susceptible to corrosion and discoloration.
     Rust on the surface will greatly impair the performance and the commercial value of metal products and mechanical equipment of magnetic materials, and even cause major failures and cause the equipment to be scrapped. According to statistics, about one-third of the world's smelted metals are scrapped in the industry due to rust. Of course, 2/3 of them can be regenerated by re-melting, but more than 10% are still inevitably lost due to rust. This is a direct loss, and indirect losses are often greater and cannot be accurately estimated. In short, the economic losses and social harm caused by rust to humans are enormous.
