Description of environmental conditions for flowmeter installation

With the rapid development of science and technology, the flow meter has been updated to higher requirements. The current situation of flow metering is far from meeting the needs of production. There are still a large number of flow metering technical problems to be further studied and solved.
The surrounding conditions should not be ignored when selecting the flowmeter, such as ambient temperature, humidity, safety and electrical interference. The following are the environmental conditions for installing the flowmeter.
Ambient humidity
Atmospheric humidity in the environment is also one of the problems affecting the use of flow meters. For example, high humidity will accelerate atmospheric corrosion and electrolytic corrosion and reduce electrical insulation. Low humidity will induce static electricity. A sharp change in ambient temperature or medium temperature can cause problems with humidity, such as surface condensation.
2. Ambient temperature
Changes in ambient temperature affect the electronic and flow sensor sections of the flowmeter. For example, temperature changes can affect the size of the sensor, change the fluid density and viscosity through the flowmeter housing heat transfer. When the ambient temperature affects the display meter electronics, the component parameters will change. Flow sensors and secondary display instruments should be installed in different locations, such as secondary display instruments should be installed in the control room to protect the electronic components from temperature. It should be said that the influence of the ambient temperature on the estimation of the total uncertainty of the flow measurement should not be one of the main influences of the uncertainty.
3. Security
The flowmeter should be selected in accordance with relevant codes and standards to suit the requirements for use in explosive hazardous environments and in accordance with explosion-proof standards.
4. Electrical interference
Power cables, motors, and electrical switches can cause electromagnetic interference. If no measures are taken, they will cause errors in flow measurement.
The flow meters used in different industrial sectors account for a large part of the total number of meters. With the rapid development of flow meters, the flow standard devices have also developed rapidly, and networks have been established in national, provincial and municipal metrology institutions to ensure their The flow rate value is delivered accurately and consistently.
