How to do the lightning protection work of the vortex flowmeter
Thunder and lightning are not strangers, especially during the thunderstorm season in summer. When lightning is generated, a powerful magnetic field is generated. The vortex flowmeter installed in the open air will generate electromagnetic induction at this moment, and instantaneously generate strong voltage and current to break through the insulation layer, so that it is burned out and cannot work normally. We all know that vortex flowmeters are generally installed in outdoor environments where there are few people and difficult to walk. There is no obstruction, the working environment is more difficult, and lightning protection work is difficult to implement, but it is better than not doing it. Several aspects talk about how to do the vortex flowmeter> lightning protection work: 1. Regularly check whether all grounding devices of the vortex flowmeter meet the safety requirements. Once the grounding resistance of the vortex flowmeter is found to have a relatively large change, the grounding system should be thoroughly inspected immediately, and if necessary, the grounding pile can be taken. 2. Regularly check the soil surrounding the vortex flowmeter grounding device for subsidence, especially during the thunderstorm season in summer. 3. Once the conductors of the vortex flowmeter lightning protection device are found to be broken or rusted by corrosion or other reasons, they must be replaced. 4. The lightning protection work of the vortex flowmeter is divided into external lightning protection and internal lightning protection. External lightning protection includes lightning rods, lightning protection belts, down conductors, grounding poles, etc. In order to prevent the vortex flowmeter from damaging the instrument due to lightning strikes, a suitable lightning arrester can be installed at the front end of the equipment to be protected by the vortex flowmeter, so that the equipment, the line and the ground form a conditional equipotential body. The external lightning protection system protects the main body of the vortex flowmeter from lightning strikes, and the internal lightning protection system prevents the vortex flowmeter from inducing lightning or other forms of overvoltage intrusion, and the two complement each other and are indispensable.
