What is a cone seal?

The tapered surface seals the sealing surface to narrow the contact surface. Under the action of the sealing force of a section, the seal has a large increase in the sealing specific pressure and is easy to seal. Under the premise of ensuring the seal, the applied sealing force is smaller than that of the flat seal. Since the narrow sealing surface is not easy to fall correctly on the valve seat, the valve flap must be guided for the best sealing performance. After the valve flap is guided, a good sealing performance can be achieved. The valve flap is guided in the valve body, and the lateral thrust of the flow medium received by the valve flap is received by the valve body instead of being received by the valve stem, which further enhances the sealing performance and the reliability of the packing seal. On the other hand, the conical seal type is fitted in the case of friction, so the sealing material must be resistant to scratches. Cone seals are relatively less damaged by solid particles and media deposits than flat seals, but are not suitable for use in media containing solid particles and media deposits. Such seals are primarily used in non-particulate media. The sealing principle is that when the medium flows in from below the valve flap, the applied sealing force must be equal to or slightly greater than the sum of the forces generated on the sealing surface that must be greater than the pressure and the medium upward. When the medium flows in from above the valve flap, the applied sealing force is equal to or greater than the difference between the force generated by the sealing surface and the pressure and the medium.
