Analysis of the strength of the ferrule joint
A ferrule joint is a joint where two or more parts are to be welded together. Or a joint that connects two or more parts with a ferrule method, including welds, fusion zones, and heat affected zones. The area where the ferrule melts and solidifies is called a weld, which consists of a molten base metal and a filler metal. The strength of the ferrule joint is not low, but sometimes the brittle fracture occurs in the weld or near seam area in less than a few months. This phenomenon is more likely to occur in extreme temperature environments. Since the weld of stainless steel is heated at a high temperature for a period of time, the phenomenon that the impact toughness is lowered is called embrittlement.
