The definition of regulating valve
The control valve, also known as the control valve, is a device in the process control system that uses power operation to change the fluid flow. The International Electrotechnical Commission's IEC defines the regulating valve (control valve abroad) as: “The terminal element formed by a power operated device in an industrial process control system. It includes a valve component with an internal flow rate that changes the process fluid. The valve body part is in turn connected to one or more actuators. The actuator is used to respond to signals from the control element." It can be seen that the regulating valve consists of an actuator and a valve component.

Regulator valve classification

There are many kinds of regulating valves. With the continuous improvement of the process flow and performance of various types of complete sets of equipment, the types of regulating valves are still increasing, and there are many classification methods.
First, classified by driving method
Manual adjustment valve

Second, classified by nominal diameter
1. Small diameter control valve DN≤40
2. Medium diameter control valve DN50～300
3. Large diameter control valve DN≥350

Third, classified by nominal pressure
1. Vacuum regulator valve working pressure is lower than standard atmospheric pressure
2. Low pressure regulating valve PN≤1.6MPa
3. Medium pressure control valve PN2.5～6.4MPa
4. High pressure regulating valve PN10～80MPa
5. Ultra-high pressure control valve PN>80MPa

Fourth, according to the media operating temperature classification
1. High temperature control valve t>450°C
2. Medium temperature control valve 120°C≤t≤450°C
3. Normal temperature control valve 29°C≤t≤120°C
4. Low temperature control valve -100°C≤t≤-29°C
5. Ultra-low temperature control valve t<-100°C
