Magnetic separation is the use of various mineral magnetic differences
Magnetic separation is a beneficiation method that uses the difference in various mineral magnetic materials to perform sorting in the magnetic field of a magnetic separator. When the ore particles with different magnetic materials pass the magnetic field of the magnetic separator, they must be subjected to magnetic and mechanical forces. Because the magnetic particles with stronger magnetic material and the magnetic particles with weaker magnetic material have different magnetic forces, different motion trajectories are generated, so that the ore particles are divided into two or more separate ore dressing products according to the different magnetic materials.
Magnetic separation can separate mixed materials of magnetic materials and non-magnetic materials, and can also sort materials of different magnetic materials. In the beneficiation practice, the magnetic selection method is mainly used for the selection of ferrous metal ores (such as iron ore, manganese ore). Sorting of certain colored, rare metals, and certain non-metallic ores, such as clay, quartz sand, and graphite, has also been applied. It can also be used to exclude magnetic material impurities as a means of purifying raw materials.
