Introduction to the Structure and Function of Proportional Valve
In practice, the terms of proportional valves may vary: control valves, control valves or
metering valves: but they all refer to the same product. The name represents its function: used to control and regulate the flow of flowing media (gas or liquid). The driving modes of proportional valves are pneumatic, electric, piezoelectric and electromagnetic. The driving principles vary in price, size, type of medium isolation, dynamics and force properties. The inner hole size of proportional solenoid valve is mainly less than 12 mm (direct type): the inner hole size of electric proportional valve is 2-6 mm (seat valve) and 8-25 mm (disc valve).
Proportional valves are used as
metering valves in closed-loop control loops, which can eliminate the deviation between actual process values and set values. However, according to the valve type and specific application, proportional valve can also be used in open loop control loop, and there is no actual process value feedback in open loop control loop.
