Valve classification description

There are many kinds of valve products, and the sayings are not uniform. Some are divided according to the purpose (such as chemical valves, petroleum valves, oilfield special valves, power station valves, etc.), some according to medium (such as water vapor, air valve, etc.), and some presses. Material grade (such as cast steel valve, forged steel valve, cast iron valve station, etc.), some according to the connection form (such as flange type, wafer type, butt welding type, internal thread connection, etc.), some according to temperature ( Such as low temperature valves, high temperature valve stations, etc.). Most of China's current habits are differentiated by pressure and structure. Namely: according to the nominal pressure: ≤1.6MPa for low pressure valves, pressures 2.5, 4.0, 6.4MPa for medium pressure valves, ≥10MPa for high pressure valves, and over 100MPa for ultra high pressure valves.
Its use covers petroleum, chemical, fertilizer, pesticide, synthetic plastics, synthetic fiber, synthetic rubber, food, medicine, hydropower and other industrial sectors as well as national defense, scientific research, transportation, agriculture and even living facilities.

Valves can be divided into types according to the structure:
Butterfly Valve—Used to open or close media in the pipe. Can also be used as a regulating valve.
Ball valve, gate valve, plug valve, globe valve - used to open or close the flow of media in the pipe.
Check valve (including bottom valve) - used to automatically prevent backflow of media in the pipe.
Throttle valve - used to regulate the flow of pipe media.
Safety valve—Used on boilers, container equipment and pipelines. When the medium pressure exceeds the specified value, the excess medium pressure can be automatically eliminated to ensure safe production and operation.
Pressure Reducing Valve—Used to automatically reduce media pressure in piping and equipment. When the medium passes through the gap of the valve flap, resistance is generated to cause pressure loss, and the purpose of decompression is achieved.
Trap - Used to automatically remove condensate from steam lines to prevent steam loss or leakage.
Classified by structural characteristics:
1) Cut-off shape The closing member moves along the center line of the seat.
2) Gate shape The closing member moves along a center line perpendicular to the valve seat.
3) Swing shape The closing member rotates around an axis outside the valve seat.
4) Spherical or Plug Shape The closure is a plunger or ball that rotates around its centerline.
5) Butterfly The closure is a disc that rotates about the axis inside the seat.
