Application description of ultrasonic level meter

Ultrasonic waves propagate in liquids with good directionality and can be reflected when they meet the interface. Therefore, the height of the liquid surface can be determined by measuring the time from the emission to the reflection of the ultrasonic waves. Generally, electro-excitation is used to make a piezoelectric transducer (usually a piezoelectric transducer such as lead zirconate titanate, lead magnesium niobate, barium titanate, etc.) emit sound waves, and the acoustic pulse reflected from the liquid surface is piezoelectrically transduced. The device converts into an electric pulse, and the timing circuit measures the time that the ultrasonic wave passes back and forth in the liquid, and the liquid level can be calculated according to the propagation speed of the ultrasonic wave in the liquid. The same transducer can be used for the reception and transmission of sound waves, and two transducers are also available. Ultrasonic level meters are classified into liquid medium, air medium and solid medium according to the medium of sound wave propagation.

The advantage of using the ultrasonic level meter for measurement is that the sensing element can be out of contact with the liquid to be measured, and is therefore suitable for the measurement of highly corrosive, high pressure, toxic, high viscosity liquid levels. In addition, it is not afraid of smoke and light, is not subject to electromagnetic interference, can measure the liquid level of various liquids and the granular solid material level, and can also be used to measure the two liquid interfaces, liquid level difference, material level difference and the like. The solid-state measurement method can measure the liquid level of the boiling medium, allowing the liquid level to fluctuate, such as measuring the liquid level in the rocket, aircraft, and ship fuel tank. Liquid-based measurement methods are very common, and seawater depth measurements are used in this way.

Nuclear Radiation Level Meter The level is measured by the principle that the absorption of nuclear radiation by a substance (a liquid or solid in a certain position) weakens the intensity of the radiation. Nuclear radiation can penetrate thicker steel plates and other solids, so this type of instrument can be used for measurement without touching the object. It does not need to be opened for the container, and can be high under harsh working conditions such as strong light, smoke, high pressure and high temperature. The viscosity, explosive, and corrosive medium is used for liquid level measurement, which is an advantage that other types of level instruments cannot compare. However, nuclear radiation affects human health and requires on-site labor protection measures, which limits the promotion and application of nuclear radiation level instruments to a certain extent.
