Valve classification---classified by structural features
The structural characteristics of the valve are divided according to the direction of movement of the closure relative to the valve seat:
(1) The shape of the gate: the closure moves along the center of the valve seat;
(2) Cocks and spheres: The closure is a plunger or ball that rotates around its own centerline; for example, a plug valve, ball valve
(3) Gate shape: The closure moves along the center of the vertical seat; such as gate valves, gates, etc.
