Vulcanization of rubber products
Vulcanization is an important process for the processing of rubber products. The vulcanized products allow the rubber products to achieve better performance. Well, let's understand the vulcanization process.
Vulcanization is the addition of a certain amount of vulcanizing product to a semi-finished product made of raw rubber, which is heated and insulated at a prescribed temperature so that the linear molecules of raw rubber pass through a “sulfur bridge” to form a network of cross-links. The structure is such that the plastic compound becomes a vulcanizate with high elasticity. Since the crosslinks mainly consist of sulfur, it is called "vulcanization".
With the rapid development of synthetic rubber, there are many types of vulcanizing products, including organic polysulfides, peroxides, and metal oxides in addition to sulfur. Therefore, any process that can transform a linear structure of a plastic rubber into a three-dimensional network structure of elastic rubber is called vulcanization. Any substance that can act as a "bridge" in rubber materials is called a "vulcanization product."
In short, everyone remembers that the vulcanized elastic rubber is called vulcanized rubber and we usually call it rubber.
