Tips for the correct use of vortex flowmeters

The vortex flowmeter is also known as the Karman vortex flowmeter. It is a separate flow meter made by the principle of natural oscillation of fluid. When the fluid flows at a sufficiently large flow rate through an object perpendicular to the direction of fluid flow, if the object is properly sized, a vortex that is aligned and reversed will be produced along two parallel lines behind the object.
 
Where S is the Stroha number, V is the average flow velocity in the pipe, and d is the width of the upstream surface of the columnar body. Therefore, by measuring the frequency of the vortex, the flow velocity of the fluid can be known, and the flow rate of the fluid can be measured.
 
Sensor installation precautions
 
(1) The sensor should be installed horizontally or vertically (the flow direction of the fluid should be from bottom to top) on the pipe corresponding to the nominal diameter.
 
(2) When the vortex flowmeter is used for flow regulation, special attention should be paid to installing the flow regulating valve behind the sensor. Otherwise, the jet will be easily generated at a small flow rate, causing the medium flow and the opening of the valve during flow regulation. An inverse phenomenon.
 
(3) The flowmeter should be equipped with a straight pipe section of a certain length upstream and downstream during installation.
 
(4) The flowmeter cannot be installed on pipes with strong vibration to avoid affecting the measurement accuracy.
 
Precautions for use
 
(1) In the water supply system, the flowmeter is generally installed in the instrument well. In order to prevent damage to the instrument during the rainy season, the instrument should be removed from the instrument well or a separate sensor.
 
(2) When there is a high-power motor near the flowmeter, in order to avoid power frequency interference, in addition to shielding the signal transmission cable, the signal transmission mode should use DC signal as much as possible.
 
(3) The technical parameters of the flowmeter should be well managed, such as the KQ coefficient of the flowmeter, the full-scale frequency, etc. The loss of these data will cause great difficulties for the maintenance of the instrument in the future.
 
(4) When using the explosion-proof flow sensor, the instrument equipment casing must not be opened on site in the power-on state. When repairing, pay attention to the protective casing, especially the flameproof joint surface can not be damaged.
 
(5) The test element should be taken out of the pipeline regularly and cleaned with alcohol or gasoline.
