Diaphragm professional vocabulary introduction
Convolution width The convolution width refers to the gap between the cylinder wall and the piston skirt. By reducing the convolution width, working pressure can be increased. In general, the convolution width should be at least four times the thickness of the side wall of the diaphragm.
2. Cylinder diameter (inner diameter) The cylinder diameter (inner diameter) refers to the inner diameter of the cylinder that fits into the diaphragm. It also includes the convoluted outer diameter.
3. Cylinder radius The cylinder radius refers to the radius of the transition between the cylinder wall and the flange.
4. Piston cap A piston cap is a metal plate attached to a piston and sandwiched in the piston space of the diaphragm to ensure that the diaphragm stays in convolution.
5. Diameter of the piston The piston diameter refers to the piston head, including the radius.
6. Piston radius Piston radius refers to the radius of transition from the top of the piston to the skirt of the piston.
7. Piston skirt Piston skirt refers to the side wall portion of the piston, which determines the inner diameter of the convolution.
