The working principle of electromagnetic flowmeter and how to use it

How does the electromagnetic flowmeter work:
The electromagnetic flowmeter uses Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction to determine the liquid flowing in the pipe. In an electromagnetic flowmeter, a magnetic field is generated and directed to a liquid flowing through a pipe. According to Faraday's law, the flow of the conductive liquid through the magnetic field will cause the voltage signal to be detected by the electrode, located on the flow tube wall. When the fluid moves faster, it produces more voltage. The state of Faraday's law produces a voltage that is proportional to the voltage signal of the moving electron emitter's voltage to determine the liquid stream for processing.
Compared to many other flow meter technologies, electromagnetic flowmeter technology produces a linear relationship between signal and flow. Therefore, the turndown ratio to the electromagnetic flowmeter is close to 20:1 or better without sacrificing accuracy.
How to use electromagnetic flowmeter
Electromagnetic flowmeters measure the velocity of conductive liquids in pipes such as water, acids, caustic, and mud. The electromagnetic flowmeter can measure the correct electrical conductivity of the liquid to be greater than about 5 S / cm. Be careful because fluids with low conductivity of electromagnetic flowmeters, such as deionized water, boiler make-up water, or hydrocarbons, can be turned off causing the flowmeter to measure zero flow.
The flow meter does not interfere with flow, so it can be used for clean, hygienic, dirty, corrosive and abrasive liquids. Electromagnetic flowmeters can be used for the flow of electrically conductive liquids, so this technique is used because their non-conducting and gaseous hydrocarbons and gases cannot be measured.
Electromagnetic flow meters do not require much upstream and downstream direct operation, so they can be installed to operate on relatively short meters. Electromagnetic flowmeters typically require a diameter of 3-5 upstream straight sections and a 0-3 diameter downstream run to measure the plane of the electrodes of the electromagnetic flowmeter.
The application of dirty liquids has been found in the water, wastewater, mining, mineral processing, power, pulp and paper, chemical and other industries. Water and wastewater applications include transfer of custody between liquid water pipe/wastewater treatment zones. Electromagnetic flowmeters are used in sewage treatment plants to treat and treat untreated sewage, process water, water and chemicals. Applications in the mining and mineral processing industries include process water and process slurry flows and heavy media flows.
With proper attention to structural materials, the flow of highly corrosive liquids (such as acids and bases) and slurries can be measured. Corrosive liquid applications are often found in the chemical industry as a chemical feed system used in most industries. Mud applications are commonly found in mining, mineral processing, pulp and paper, water and waste industries.
Electromagnetic flow meters are commonly used to supply liquid using gravity. Make sure that the direction of the flowmeter is such that it is completely filled with the liquid flow meter. If, to ensure complete filling of the liquid flow meter, the flow measurement can be significantly affected.
Be careful when handling, vacuum service, because some electromagnetic flowmeter linings can be folded and sucked into the vacuum service in the pipeline - catastrophic damage to the flowmeter electromagnetic flowmeter. It is important to note that vacuum conditions can occur in pipes that do not appear to be exposed to vacuum services, such as pipes, where condensed gases (usually under abnormal conditions). Similarly, excessive temperature of the electromagnetic flowmeter (even under abnormal conditions) can cause permanent damage to the flowmeter.
