Electromagnetic flowmeter to measure blood flow introduction
Electromagnetic flowmeters can be used to non-invasively measure blood flow. However, during use, the position of the blood vessel changes due to the patient's movement, which affects the sensitivity of the flow meter. To this end, researchers at ABB Corporate Research have used multiphysics simulations to study the effects of displacement of blood vessels on the performance of electromagnetic flowmeters as they move. A simple method of measuring blood flow An electromagnetic flowmeter is an instrument for measuring a conductive fluid based on an electromotive force (EMF), by which medical personnel can measure a patient's blood flow in a painless and non-invasive manner. In the flow meter, the external coil generates a magnetic field, and the non-contact electrode can measure the induced electromotive force. If the patient does anything during the measurement, even if it is just breathing, the blood vessels may move, which seriously affects the sensitivity of the flowmeter. Therefore, this phenomenon is the key analysis object of cardiac medicine and chest medicine.
