Description of the effect of fluid on the flowmeter

The effect of fluid on the flowmeter: The influence of the physical properties (physical properties) of the fluid on the flow characteristics is one of the main problems in the calculation and use of the flowmeter design. The degree of influence of physical properties on the flowmeter varies according to the working principle. At present, the general flowmeter has the following common physical parameters: density, viscosity, isentropic index, humidity, electrical conductivity, sound velocity, thermal conductivity, and the like. These have a great influence on flow meters, especially precision flow meters such as electromagnetic flow meters.
Mastering the fluid property parameters mainly has the following three aspects.
    1) Selection of the basis of the flowmeter is mainly to understand the performance of the instrument and the physical properties of the measured medium. The physical property parameters of the fluid are an important part of the characteristics of the object to be measured. When used in the field, there are many examples in which the measurement fails to meet the requirements due to insufficient or inaccurate fluid property parameters.
    2) Flowmeter design calculation In the flowmeter design calculation, the physical property parameter is one of the main parameters. To make the design calculation accurate and reliable, the provision of basic data is indispensable.
    3) Field use and maintenance Fluid property change is one of the main reasons for the additional error of flow measurement when used in the field. To reduce the additional error of measurement, the influence of physical parameters on the flowmeter characteristics should be discussed in depth.
According to the composition of the components, the fluid can be divided into two categories: pure substances and mixtures. Generally, pure substances can be found in the calculation formula of physical properties, and some can not be found. For example, only generalized calculation formulas (contrast equations) can be used. Mixtures can only be used in generalized calculations. The key is to calculate the false critical parameters by the mixing rule of the mixture and apply the generalized calculation formula.
