Interpretation of the unique advantages and uses of diaphragm valves in water treatment

Diaphragm valve It relies on a soft rubber membrane and a plastic membrane to control fluid movement. As one of the earliest regulating valves, the diaphragm valve has a simple structure and consists of only three main parts: the valve body, the diaphragm and the bonnet assembly. Therefore, the diaphragm valve has quick disassembly and repair, and the diaphragm valve can be replaced in the field and in a short time. In the use of engineering, diaphragm valves have the following characteristics:
(1) The soft rubber diaphragm valve can cut off the medium to prevent leakage.
(2) Because rubber has a certain degree of corrosion resistance, there was no better corrosion-resistant material before the 1960s. It was often used as a corrosion-resistant material to promote its application, and even continues today.
(3) The flow path is simple and has a "self-cleaning" effect, which can be used for dirty media.
(4) Opening characteristics, but when used as a corrosion-resistant regulating valve, the front part of the quick-opening characteristic is used, and the effective stroke is short and the adjustment quality is poor.
(5) Like a fatigue test piece, forcing it to fold up and down, it is easy to break, because the diaphragm is an unreliable part, resulting in a short valve life, which is a fatal defect. Because of this, the author has emphasized in recent years that the diaphragm valve should be eliminated and replaced with a ball valve and a full-function ultra-light valve.
(6) When closing, the force of the medium pushes the diaphragm up, the unbalance force is large, and the thrust of the actuator is required. Therefore, a particularly large and heavy and heavy actuator must be selected to make the valve weight become Very bulky, twice the size of a ball valve and 3-4 times that of a full-featured ultra-light valve.
(7) In particular, it is necessary to emphasize that there are more and more corrosion-resistant materials, especially in the late 1980s, when the fluoroplastic process was solved, and the fluorine-filled ball valve was introduced. Because fluoroplastics are more resistant to corrosion and temperature than rubber, and the ball core of the ball valve is much ten times more rigid than the diaphragm diaphragm diaphragm, it is recommended that in the case of cutting and adjusting the corrosive medium, the diaphragm valve should not be used as much as possible, and the corrosion resistant lining should be selected. Fluorescent ball valves, butterfly valves and all-PTFE single seat valves.
Let's take an example: In the water treatment system, the valve used on the desalination device, 10 years ago, whether it is a foreign or domestic device, the diaphragm valve with fluorine-lined plastic is used, and its service life is about one year. It is 3 to 6 months short, so the diaphragm is constantly being replaced. After using our recommended water treatment special ball valve, this problem is solved very well, and the service life is as long as 7 to 8 years, and it can generally be used for 3 to 5 years.
