What is the water hammer phenomenon of the solenoid valve?

In a pressure line, due to some external reason (such as the sudden closure of the valve, the sudden shutdown of the pump unit), the water flow rate suddenly changes, which causes the pressure to rise and fall alternately. This phenomenon is called water hammer. Or water hammer.
Because the pump is opened, the pump is stopped, and the gate valve is too fast, the speed of water changes drastically. In particular, suddenly stopping the pump causes water hammer, which can damage pipelines, pumps, valves, and cause the pump to reverse, reducing the pressure of the pipe network, etc. It is extremely important to prevent the occurrence of water hammer. The following measures are commonly used to prevent the occurrence of water hammer:
a. Water hammer caused by open and close valve:
(1) Extended valve opening and closing time.
(2) Centrifugal pumps and coagulation pumps should be stopped when the valve is half-closed 15% to 30% rather than fully closed.
b. Water hammer caused by pump
(1) Exclude the air inside the pipe, make the pipe filled with water and then turn on the pump. The automatic exhaust valve should be provided for any high-rise part of the long-distance water pipe.
(2) Stopping the pump water hammer is mainly caused by the shut-off valve of the outlet pipe being closed too quickly. Therefore, canceling the check valve can eliminate the hazard of stopping the water hammer of the pump, and can reduce head loss and save power consumption; currently, it is often used in large-diameter pipelines. Install a micro-resistance slow-closing check valve. The use of buffer check valves and micro-closed butterfly valves installed on the large-diameter water pump outlet pipe can effectively eliminate the water pump stoppage of the pump. However, due to the non-return flow of the valve during operation, the suction well must have an overflow pipe. Immediately adjacent to the check valve and install a water hammer eliminator downstream of it.
