Four common types of chip inductors

There are four main types of chip inductors, namely wound, laminated, woven and thin film inductors. Commonly used are both wire-wound and stacked types. Winding type
It is characterized by a wide range of inductance (mH ~ H), high precision of inductance, low loss (that is, Q is large), high allowable current, strong inheritance of manufacturing skills, simple, low cost, but the disadvantage is Further miniaturization is limited. Ceramic-core wound-type chip inductors maintain a stable inductance and a suitably high Q at such high frequencies, thus occupying a place in the high-frequency circuit.
TDK's NL series inductors are wound type, 0.01~100uH, precision 5%, high Q value, which can meet the usual needs.
NLC type is suitable for power supply circuit, rated current up to 300mA; NLV type is high Q value, environmental protection (recycled plastic), can communicate with NL; NLFC has magnetic screen, suitable for power line.
2. Laminated type
It has excellent magnetic shielding, high sintered density and good mechanical strength. The disadvantages are low pass rate, high cost, low inductance and low Q.

3. Film slice
It has the characteristics of maintaining high Q, high precision, high stability and small volume in the microwave frequency band. 4. Weaving appearance
The characteristic is that the inductance per unit volume at 1MHz is larger than that of other chip inductors, and the volume is small, and the simple device is on the substrate. Used as a miniature magnetic component for power handling.
