The CKD cylinder determines the thrust and tension on the piston rod based on the amount of force required to operate. Therefore, when selecting the cylinder, the output force of the cylinder should be slightly margined. If the cylinder diameter is small, the output force is not enough, the cylinder can not work normally; but the cylinder diameter is too large, which not only makes the equipment cumbersome, high cost, but also increases the gas consumption, resulting in waste of energy. When designing the fixture, force-increasing mechanisms should be used as much as possible to reduce the size of the cylinder. A cylindrical metal member that guides the piston to linearly reciprocate therein. The working fluid converts thermal energy into mechanical energy by expansion in the engine cylinder; the gas is compressed by the piston in the compressor cylinder to increase the pressure. The housing of a turbine, a rotary piston engine or the like is also commonly referred to as a "cylinder."

The pneumatic actuator converts the pressure energy of the compressed gas into a pneumatic actuator of mechanical energy. The cylinder has two types of reciprocating linear motion and reciprocating swing. The cylinders for reciprocating linear motion can be divided into four types: single acting, double acting, diaphragm type and impact cylinder. Cylinder 1 single-acting cylinder: only one end has a piston rod, the air supply from the side of the piston can generate air pressure, and the air pressure pushes the piston to generate a thrust, and returns by spring or self-weight. 2 double-acting cylinder: alternately supply air from both sides of the piston, outputting force in one or two directions. 3 Diaphragm cylinder: replace the piston with a diaphragm, output the force only in one direction, and reset with a spring. Its sealing performance is good, but the stroke is short. 4 Impact Cylinder: This is a new type of component. It converts the pressure energy of the compressed gas into the kinetic energy of the high-speed (10-20 m/s) movement of the piston, thereby doing work. The impact cylinder adds a middle cover with a spout and a drain. The middle cover and the piston divide the cylinder into three chambers: a gas storage chamber, a head chamber and a tail chamber. It is widely used in a variety of operations such as blanking, punching, crushing and forming. The cylinder that reciprocates is called the swinging cylinder, and the inner chamber is divided into two by the vane, and the two chambers are alternately supplied with air, and the output shaft is oscillated, and the swing angle is less than 280°. In addition, there are rotary cylinders, gas-liquid damping cylinders and stepping cylinders.

The ckd cylinders are made of stainless steel. Cylinders with magnetic switches or cylinders used in corrosive environments should be made of stainless steel, aluminum or brass. The guiding precision of the cylinder is to bear a small amount of lateral load on the piston rod, reduce the amount of downward bending when the piston rod is extended, and prolong the service life of the cylinder. Guide sleeves typically use sintered oil-containing alloys, forward-lead copper castings. End caps used to be malleable cast iron. Nowadays, in order to reduce weight and prevent rust, aluminum alloy die-casting is often used, and micro-cylinders are made of brass. The guiding of the cylinder reduces the wear of the piston seal and reduces the frictional resistance. The wear ring length is made of polyurethane, polytetrafluoroethylene, cloth synthetic resin and the like. The width of the piston is determined by the size of the seal and the length of the necessary sliding portion. The sliding part is too short to cause early wear and seizure. The piston is made of aluminum alloy and cast iron, and the piston of the small cylinder is made of brass.
