So, what are the gaps between domestic instruments and imported products? 

 China Association for Science and Technology released the results of their organization in March 2007: the main analytical instruments in China's instrumentation, there are more than 90 kinds of analytical instruments being applied in the society, and more than 20 kinds of products can be produced in China. 1/3 of the total. Among them, there are more than 80 kinds of special instruments for life sciences, and there are only 6 kinds of specialized instruments for life sciences in China. There are about 10 kinds of research instruments currently under research, which are far from the market demand. This is the difference in quantity.

In terms of measurement accuracy, existing domestic products and foreign products generally differ by an order of magnitude. Because China does not have enough research on the basic technology and manufacturing process of instruments, some key technologies that affect reliability, such as precision machining technology, sealing technology, welding technology, etc., have not been solved well yet, resulting in products, especially high-end products. Performance is not stable and reliable. 

In terms of function, at present, the degree of intelligence of foreign production is quite high. By digitally processing the original information, the influence of external interference on the information is better eliminated, and the environmental resistance and measurement authenticity of the product are improved. The level of intelligence in existing domestic products is still low.

In addition, the network of products has entered a practical stage abroad, and China is basically in its infancy, which makes the performance and function of products backward.

According to relevant experts, the update cycle of today's foreign products is about 2-3 years. Reserves of new technologies can often be advanced to 10 years. However, Chinese enterprises often use the introduction of foreign technology to achieve the renewal of a generation of products. After the introduction, they cannot be well digested and absorbed, and there are few original achievements in the development of new products. Some products adopting new principles are still in a blank state in China. Although there are achievements in tracking new technologies in research institutes, it is quite difficult to integrate industrialization with enterprises, resulting in a long cycle of product technology renewal.

In addition, domestic instruments lack specialized solutions developed for the use of objects. The development trend of measurement control and instrumentation in foreign countries in recent years is to develop software products that are closely combined with instrumentation and application objects, and finally provide users with personalized solutions. For example, for the performance calculation software of the 6×10 ‘ kW thermal power unit, the optimization software for the refining process, and the graphics processing software for medical instruments, domestic enterprises have not yet formed an industry in this respect.
