Problems to be aware of when installing the regulating valve and possible conditions

The correct installation of the regulating valve is just as important as the correct choice. The quality of the installation is related to the operational performance, safety level and cost.
The regulating valve must be installed in strict accordance with the engineering requirements and control system requirements. Once the valve fails, it will lead to serious accidents such as fire, explosion, poisoning and personal injury. The loss cannot be calculated.
Before installing the regulating valve, the quality of the regulating valve should be checked, starting from the visual inspection, and then checking whether there are any missing parts and accessories in the transportation process, whether there is a certificate of conformity, and if necessary, a static characteristic inspection or special inspection. Regulators that are damaged during transport must never be used.
There are more and more types and types of regulating valves, and the process piping is becoming more and more complicated, so the installation difficulty is getting bigger and bigger.
(1) Prevent leakage
The installation process does not allow the valve to leak. If the regulating valve is used, if a gap or small hole is formed in the stuffing box, flange gasket, etc., leakage may occur. If the operating conditions of the fluid medium are very harsh, such as high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive fluids, the damage will become more and more serious and the leakage will become more and more severe.
There are many ways to prevent leaks. During the installation process, the choice of packing, the choice of sealing method, the reduction of pressure, and the use of a valve with good sealing are all factors that the installer must consider.
(2) Install a vent valve or a discharge valve
a. Any piping design and installation will inevitably accumulate high pressure fluid when it is cut off. If the potential energy of the accumulated fluid is very dangerous, install a vent valve and/or a drain valve on each side of the regulator.
b. For valves with a large amount of high pressure material, consider installing two vent valves or discharge valves. In this way, only a small amount of material is accumulated between the two valves, and the pressure of the system can be released one by one. The regulator valve must be open during this process.
c. A large amount of high-pressure fluid accumulated between the shut-off valves may accumulate considerable force. If the operation of the pressure of the relief valve is careless, serious personal accidents may occur. After the system is shut off, the system pressure in the valve can be maintained for a period of time. If the valve is to be repaired and opened or removed at this time, there must be safety measures to reduce this pressure, and there must be a discharge accumulation. The measure of harmful fluids.
d. Select a vent valve that limits the flow to protect the operator. If the fluid contains suspended particles, it is easy to block the vent valve. Therefore, for safe venting, a large-sized discharge valve is used for the valve venting at the top of the pipe.
(3) Safe pipeline
a. Sand, scale, metal shavings and other impurities in the pipeline will damage the surface of the regulating valve, making it not tightly closed. Therefore, all piping and fittings must be purged and thoroughly cleaned before installing the regulating valve.
b. If the fluid being discharged is a hazardous gas, the vent line should be connected to a safe location. Even if it is a non-combustible gas, it is still necessary to use a venting tube to prevent the blown gas from rust or other debris and harm the operator. If the discharged fluid is a hazardous liquid, consider connecting the drain to a safe container. During operation, the valve may be hot and precautions must be taken to prevent burns to the operator.
c. When installing the threaded pipe fittings, avoid the sealant falling into the installation pipe. Therefore, use the sealant as little as possible, and do not apply the sealing course to the first two threads. A Teflon seal can be used instead of the sealant for sealing.
d. Steam management upstream or downstream of the regulator valve should be insulated.
e. In pipeline systems with severe pressure fluctuations, it is recommended to use a pipeline buffer.
