Vortex flowmeter installation notes introduction

The flowmeter sensitive to the irregular flow velocity distribution, the direction of rotation and the magnitude of the flow is a vortex flowmeter, so we should pay attention to the installation conditions of the on-site pipeline when using it, strictly comply with the requirements of the instruction manual and strictly enforce it.
     Vortex flowmeters can be installed indoors or outdoors. If installed in a well, there is a possibility of flooding, and a hydrophobic sensor is required. The sensor can be installed horizontally, vertically or obliquely on the pipe, but to prevent the interference of air bubbles and liquid droplets when measuring liquids and gases, the installation position should be noted.
      The vortex flowmeter must ensure that the upper and downstream straight sections have the necessary length. There are differences in the data in various materials. The reason may be that the vortex generator has not been standardized, and the influence of the difference in shape and size has yet to be verified. The experimental study on the length of the straight pipe length necessary for various types of spoilers is not enough, that is, not yet Mature, comparative throttling differential pressure flowmeter (open channel flowmeter), this work is still in the initial stage.
      The requirements of the vortex flowmeter for the length of the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections: (a) a 90o elbow; (b) concentric expansion; (c) concentrically contracted fully open valves; (d) two 90o elbows in different planes; e) Regulating valve half-opening valve; (f) Connection of two 90o elbow sensors in the same plane to the pipeline 1) The inner and downstream piping inner diameter D is the same as the inner diameter D' of the sensor, and the difference satisfies the following conditions: 0.95D≤D` ≤1.1D. 2) The piping should be concentric with the sensor and the coaxiality should be less than 0.05D`. 3) The gasket can not protrude into the pipe, and its inner diameter can be 1~2mm larger than the inner diameter of the sensor. 4) If the flow check and cleaning sensor are required, a bypass pipe should be provided. 5) The effect of reducing vibration on the vortex flowmeter should be considered as a prominent issue in the field installation of vortex flowmeters. First, try to avoid the vibration source when selecting the sensor installation site. Secondly, the use of flexible hose connections in small caliber can be considered. Third, the installation of pipe supports is an effective method of damping, a method of pipe support.
     Examples of installation pipe support: complete installation, including straight pipe sections before and after, flow regulators, etc. are a measure to ensure high accuracy measurement, especially in the factory to ensure the quality of the installation.
    Plumbing installation for high-precision measurement: Electrical installation should be careful to use a shielded cable or a low-noise cable connection between the sensor and the converter, the distance should not exceed the specifications of the instruction manual. Keep away from strong power cables when wiring, and try to protect them with separate metal bushings. The "one-point grounding" principle should be followed and the grounding resistance should be less than 10Ω. Both the integral and the split type should be grounded on the sensor side, and the ground point of the converter case should be "same ground" as the sensor.
