Advantages and limitations of vortex flowmeter Advantage The vortex flowmeter has a simple and firm structure and is easy to install and maintain (compared with the throttle type differential pressure flowmeter, there is no need for a pressure guiding tube and a three-valve group to reduce leakage, blockage and freezing, etc.). Suitable for a wide variety of fluids, such as liquids, gases, vapors and partially miscible fluids. Accuracy teaching (compared to differential pressure, float type flowmeter), generally measured value (±1% ~ ± 2%) R. Range width up to 10:1 or 20:1. The pressure loss is small (about 1/4 to 1/2 of the orifice flowmeter). 2. Limitations
The vortex flowmeter is not suitable for low Reynolds number measurement (ReD ≥ 2 × 104), so it is limited in applications with high viscosity, low flow rate and small diameter. The stability of vortex separation is affected by the distortion of the flow velocity distribution and the swirling flow. It should be based on different forms of the flow block on the upstream side. Configure a straight pipe section that is long enough or install a flow regulator (rectifier). Generally, it can be installed with reference to the straight pipe length requirement of the throttling differential pressure flowmeter. The force sensitive detection method VSF is sensitive to the mechanical vibration of the pipeline and should not be used in places with strong vibration. Compared with the turbine flowmeter, the meter factor is low, the resolution is low, and the diameter is larger and lower. Generally, the full-tube flowmeter is used. Below DN300. There is still a lack of theoretical research and practical experience in the pulsating flow and mixed phase flow of the instrument.
