How to accurately complete the dosing of pure medium with a ball valve

Some users often ask such questions when choosing the piping accessories for the process equipment quantitative delivery system. Do you choose a diaphragm valve or a ball valve? Diaphragm valves can be used to achieve complex quantitative delivery tasks, but diaphragm valves are not a panacea for "all diseases." In many cases, a more cost-effective ball valve can do the job of a diaphragm valve. To this end, ASV has designed a ball valve called Profidos 101 for precise dosing of pure media. In order to expand the field of application of this quantitative ball valve, the specifications of this series of ball valves have been increased by two: DN40 and DN50.
The core component of the quantitative ball valve is a spherical spool with an annular dosing groove. The conveyed medium passes through the ball valve through this annular groove, and the quantitative control is adjusted by the handle of the ball valve and the identifiable scale on the valve body.
The rotary drive mechanism, which can be rotated by 180°, connects the quantitative ball valve to the process control system via a 4-20 mA electrical interface. Fully automatic flow control and adjustment with the help of a flow detector.
The welded valve body allows the ball valve to be installed without the aid of a connecting screw. Therefore, the O-ring seal that must be used when bolting is omitted, and the leakage problem of the conventional ball valve is avoided. Under normal circumstances, the standard seal material for ball valves is PTFE, and the softer seal material is EPDM or FPM.
The ball valve can be mounted in position or removed in the radial direction. The connecting thread of the union (PVC-U material) conforms to the DIN 8063 standard, and the welded joint of plastic (PP material) conforms to the DIN ISO standard, so that it can be easily and conveniently used in existing process production equipment.
The quantitative ball valve is available in sizes from DN15 to DN50. The materials used are PVC-U and PP. They meet the requirements of the DIN 3441 and DIN 3442 standards and use DIBt approved materials (PVC-U and PP). The maximum working temperature is up to 80 °C, and the maximum flow of the quantitative ball valve with a nominal diameter of DN50 is 6200 L/h. The highest working pressure that can be tolerated depends on the material used: 16 bar for PVC-U material and 10 bar for PP material.
However, quantitative ball valves are not suitable for quantitative delivery of media containing solid particles. Deposits and dirt deposited in the annular metering tank can affect the flow of the medium. For the quantitative delivery of media containing solid particles, a diaphragm valve is used as before.
