NOLOREN NORGREN solenoid valve installation and maintenance instructions

First, the pre-installation inspection work
Each NORGREN solenoid valve (including its Hilong HERION solenoid valve, Baoshuo BUSCHJOST solenoid valve, MAXSEAL solenoid valve) will have a clear nameplate, indicating relevant information, be sure to check the model and pressure on the nameplate before installation. , voltage, frequency and application are correct. Solenoid valves cannot be used with incompatible media or under conditions that exceed their rated pressure values.
Second, the location is fixed
Unless otherwise noted, the Norgren solenoid valve can be installed in any position to function properly. However, in order to optimize performance and life, the solenoid valve should be installed vertically upwards to prevent foreign matter from accumulating in the solenoid valve spool assembly.
Third, the gas pipeline
Connect the valve piping system according to the markings on the valve body. Simply wrap an appropriate amount of sealed raw tape on the external thread of the tube. If raw meal is used on the internal threads of the solenoid valve, the raw meal may enter the valve and cause operational difficulties. Pipe deformation is avoided by proper support and piping. Do not use valves or solenoid valves as levers when tightening the pipe. The position of the wrench on the valve body or pipe should be as close as possible to the joint.
Important: To protect the solenoid valve, install a suitable filter or filter on the inlet side as close as possible to the valve. Wash regularly according to operating conditions.
WARNING: To prevent possible personal injury or property damage, the power supply must be disconnected, the valve decompressed, and the fluid drained to a safe area before maintenance of the solenoid valve.
Note: It is not necessary to remove the valve from the pipe during repair.
Fourth, cable wiring
Wiring must comply with Chinese International Standard GB6109 or local electrical standards outside China. If the solenoid valve is approved for use in hazardous areas, a conduit or cable seal should be used to prevent hazardous media from entering unprotected areas, such as non-explosion-proof control panels. For explosion-proof wiring, please refer to the Chinese national standard GB3836.15.
Note: Most alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) solenoid valves are constructed differently. For conversions between each other, please contact NORGREN Technical Service personnel and may need to change the entire solenoid valve, including the spool assembly and base assembly.
Five, temperature requirements
Refer to the nameplate label for the maximum ambient temperature and fluid temperature of the valve. For higher ambient temperatures and fluid temperatures, please contact NORGREN Technical Service.
Standard models of solenoid valves are equipped with coils designed for continuous operation. After the solenoid valve is energized for a long time, the coil housing becomes hot and can only be used for short-term touch. This is the safe operating temperature. Any overheating will be indicated by the smoke or odor generated by the combustion of the coil insulation.
Six, regular maintenance
1. The protective medium flows through the solenoid valve as smoothly as possible to prevent dust and foreign matter from entering.
2. In use, the valve should be run at least once a month to ensure normal opening and closing.
3. Depending on the medium and operating conditions, it is recommended to periodically check the internal parts of the valve for damage or excessive wear and thoroughly clean all parts.
4. All valves should be cleaned regularly. The cleaning interval varies depending on the media and operating conditions. In general, if the voltage applied to the coil is correct, then running hysteresis, noise, or excessive leakage indicates that cleaning is required. In extreme cases, valve operation failures may occur or the valve may not open and close. When cleaning the valve, clean the filter or filter at the same time.
Seven, incorrect operation
1. Control circuit failure: Check the electrical system by energizing the solenoid valve. A metal "click" indicates that the solenoid valve is running. No clicks indicate no power is applied. Check if the fuse is loose or blown, check the coil for open circuit or grounding, and check if the lead or the connection is disconnected.
2. The coil is burnt out: Check if the coil is open. Replace the coil if necessary.
3. Low voltage: Check the voltage of the valve at both ends of the coil lead. The voltage should not be lower than 85% of the rated voltage on the nameplate.
4. The pressure is incorrect: check the valve pressure. The valve pressure must be within the pressure range specified on the nameplate.
5. Excessive leakage: Disassemble the valve and clean all parts. Replace worn or damaged parts with a complete repair kit for best results.
